Mission
The objectives of the Tupelo Ballet are to foster interest in classical ballet and other forms of dance, to provide professional excellence in dance training, to offer serious dancers an opportunity to perform regularly, and to provide programs of the highest artistic quality for the North Mississippi area.
History
Founded in May 1982, Tupelo Ballet was established as a non-profit organization under the charter of the State of Mississippi. Under visionary leadership of founding artistic director Sharon Long, the company began its mission to promote classical ballet and enrich the cultural landscape of Northeast Mississippi.
Since the first season, the Tupelo Ballet has presented 42 productions of the Nutcracker, as well as the full-length ballets Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella,
A Midsummer Night's Dream, Coppelia, Don Quixote, Giselle, and Snow White. Tupelo ballet has also performed the short ballets La Fille Mal Gardée, Les Sylphides, and Pas de Quatre.

Community Affiliations
Tupelo Ballet is proud to be an active member of the Mississippi Center for Nonprofits, the Community Development Foundation (CDF), and the Tupelo Arts Council. As a founding member of the Art Rocks Tupelo Festival, we are committed to enriching the cultural fabric of our region through collaborative arts experiences.
In addition, Tupelo Ballet maintains an artistic partnership with the North Mississippi Symphony Orchestra, bringing live music and dance together in powerful performances that elevate both art forms and engage the community in meaningful ways.
