Nutcracker Audition Info

We are excited about our upcoming 41 st annual production of The Nutcracker. We will again have 3

public performances, Saturday matinée, Saturday evening, and Sunday matinée.


Auditions will be held on Sunday, August 20 at the Tupelo Academy of Dance Arts studio

located at 2224 W. Jackson Street.


This year we are implementing online registration. Deadline to register is Tuesday, August 15 at 6:00

pm. NO LATE FORMS WILL BE ACCEPTED! If you would like the option to register via hard copy,

you need to email info@tupeloballet requesting one so that we will have it available to you.


Audition Times

1:15-1:45 pm - Grade 2

1:30-2:15 pm - Grades 3, 4

2:15-3:00 pm - Grades 5, 6

3:00-3:45 pm - Grades 7, 8, 9 (pointe)

3:45 pm until - Grades 10, 11, 12 (pointe)


Our 1 st grade students who wish to participate in The Nutcracker will not audition but they are required

to register by the deadline in order to participate. They will not attend rehearsals until later in the fall.

You will receive more information at a later date.


Dancers in 2nd - 6th grades should arrive 15 minutes prior to their scheduled audition time. For our

students auditioning on pointe, please arrive 30 minutes prior to audition time to stretch and warm up

in Studios 2, 3, or 4. Please wear proper dance attire (solid black or navy leotard, pink tights, hair

tightly secured in bun with hair net) and bring all required dance footwear. Dressing rooms will not be

available for auditions, so all dancers must arrive at the studio fully dressed.


Cast lists, rehearsal schedules, meeting times, as well as other important production information will

be sent by email. For weekly rehearsal schedules, we will also post on the Call Board located outside

of Studio 1.


At this time, we are offering our Special Memberships and Corporate Sponsorships. If you have a

business that you are interested in promoting during this season, you may choose the corporate option

instead. Our Special Memberships range in prices from $200 to $1000 with specific information for

each level listed on that form. Both forms are included but please only choose the one that best fits

your family’s needs.


Our annual Christmas Greenery Fundraiser will be held online again this year and all Nutcracker

participants are required to sell. You will receive a separate email detailing the fundraiser. Each

family should sell $250 in Christmas Greenery or pay $150 to opt out of the fundraiser. The greenery

will arrive at the studio during Nutcracker production week.
